The Core Services

Reception

The reception service is a vital part of The Core’s service offer. Open 8.30am to 5.30pm Monday to Friday, the team provides a friendly and professional greeting to everyone who arrives at The Core. Whether you are a sole trader or a 30 person company, the team will help create a great working environment and give access to networks that could gain you a crucial competitive advantage.

Bureau Services

The Core is a fully serviced and staffed building that can help you to get business done easily and reliably. Through reception you can access franking for mail and parcel delivery services, high quality colour copying and get help with other one-off needs.

Internet

With a 1Gbps synchronous fibre connection provided into the building, companies can purchase a standard, shared service or dedicated uncontended bandwidth to meet the needs of their business. This can be permanent, temporary or on a burst-through basis to allow for occasional high bandwidth requirements, massively reducing the overall costs of bringing superfast broadband to every business based at The Core. Not only this, the Core provides highly resilient connectivity, a UPS to protect against power failures and 24/7/365 monitoring.

Telephone

With a state of the art telephone system, The Core can provide you with advanced features normally only available within large blue-chip companies. Key features include: call transfer, advanced call forwarding and digital voicemail. The system offers excellent value for money and a professional, business standard phone system for the cost of a standard business line and handset.

Meeting Rooms

The Core offers free private meeting room space suitable for board meetings or presentations for use by firms based in the building as well as a generous allowance of communal meeting spaces across every floor. The ground floor also has a communal lounge suitable for meeting visitors and a large events space for installations, exhibitions and talks.

Flexible Working at the Core

Flexible offices

Increasingly, people need greater flexibility than a long-term lease on a fixed office. At The Core, you can access your office space 24/7/365 and you can grow your business within the building, should additional space be available. The Core also provides virtual office services, suitable for inward companies checking out the local market and for new ventures.

  • Is air conditioning provided in the offices?

The building has been carefully designed so that traditional air conditioning is not required in office spaces. However it is provided in the server room and Level 2 meeting rooms. Sensitive IT equipment can be housed in the central server room and accessed via the flood-wired Cat 6 cabling infrastructure.

Although the building is highly specified for data and connectivity, we do use some old-fashioned technology such as windows that actually open. This approach works in The Core because the floor plates are below 25m in depth, allowing air to circulate without mechanical services.

The building has been designed to meet high environmental standards in all aspects of its construction and ongoing operation. Achieving a BREEAM Very High environmental rating has been a condition of funding of The Core. The Core has recently been connected to the District Energy Centre on site.

We’ll give you as much notice as we can if this is the case.
