SOPOST EXPANDS TO NYC

One of our occupiers at The Core has expanded and opened a new office in New York’s Empire State Building following a successful first three years.

SoPost helps brands run product sampling activities online, with a focus on targeting, data, scalability, analytics and control.

Formed in 2012, it works with some of the largest brands in the world, including L’Oreal, Mondelez, PepsiCo and Benefit Cosmetics.

The company is privately owned, and backed by a number of angel investors as well as the Newcastle-based Northstar Ventures.

As it expands into the US, the team based here in Newcastle will also be growing as SoPost looks to recruit 12 members of staff during the next six months.

“SoPost is going from strength to strength and we’re excited to be expanding into the US market,” said CEO Jonathan Grubin.

“Newcastle has a phenomenal tech scene in which we’ve been able to thrive and grow.

“The city will always be at the heart of our business, and it’s a place from where we can drive our domestic and international growth.”

Toby Hyam, managing director of property management company Creative Space Management, said: “When we helped establish The Core at Newcastle’s Science Central, our objective was to attract and help ambitious young businesses to develop their products and services all over the globe.

“It is fantastic that in our second year, SoPost is one such company opening a new office in New York’s Empire State Building.

“The Core is all about helping to develop new technologies for sustainable city living and we are delighted that SoPost are expanding their business in the US from their base here in Newcastle.”
